Tempeh Maki Rolls

These tempeh maki rolls are easy to make and oh so tasty. You can also use our Smoky Tempeh or Organic Tempeh (marinated) instead of the BBQ Pieces.

ingredients

  • 1 pack of Better Nature BBQ Tempeh Pieces
  • 200g Sushi (or short grain) rice
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • White sugar 
  • Salt 
  • 3-4 nori sheets
  • Veggies of your choice, we used carrots, spring onion and pepper

instructions

  1. Cook and cool your sushi rice. Season the rice with rice vinegar, a pinch of white sugar, and salt. 
  2. Heat up some oil in a pan and cook the BBQ Tempeh Pieces for a few minutes.
  3. Place your nori sheet on a board, spread a layer of rice onto half the nori sheet. Place on top your veggies and your tempeh. 
  4. Roll tightly, leave for a few minutes to set.
  5. Then cut into bite-sized pieces using a serrated knife.
  6. Enjoy with dipping sauce of your choice! We recommend soy sauce, teriyaki, or sweet chilli sauce.
